Company 85 held its first burn building exercise of 2012 at the Berks County Fire Training Site on Fritz’s Island on Saturday April 14. Engine 85-1, Engine 85-2 and Air 85 reported to the training site along with 12 volunteer and career firefighters. The exercise consisted of four separate fire evolutions on the residential side of the burn building.  

Besides putting out the fires, the evolutions stressed dual engine supply evolutions. They also provided an opportunity to use the new Drager TICs, evaluate the use of 2” fire hose as a structural attack option, and examine the progress of two probationary members.
